The model CMI-UT-45-T1 is a noncontact rotary sensor based on a highly affordable magnetoresistive InSb element.

A noncontact rotary sensor is a recommended solution for a wide spectrum of measuring purposes, ranging from civil engineering to industrial automation New from Sensor Technology is the Model CMI-UT-45-T1, a noncontact rotary sensor based on a highly affordable magnetoresistive InSb element

Its main feature include high resistance and stability in temperature and most of all ensures a superior lifetime due to the absence of sliding contact (lifetime 500 million cycles).

Its use is particularly recommended in high frequency applications operating on small angles and even in all applications where space and weight are considered critical (actual weight is 20g and dimensions are 16mm diameter and 33mm high, pivot included).

Measurement angle ranges from -45 to +45 degrees (a +/-75 degree version is also available) with a full scale linearity of 1.5% (2% for +/-75-degree version) and the mechanical angle allows 360-degree continuous rotation.

Reliable and precise measurement is made possible also thanks to its low torque (0.5gcm due to the mounting of the shaft, held in place by a couple of miniature ball bearing) together with the absence of sliding noise and hysteresis of the output signal.

Optimum performance is also ensured by high resistance to vibration and shock (vibration resistance of 20g in 10 to 2000Hz range according to MIL-STD-202E 204C and shock resistance of 50g according to MIL-STD-202E 213B).

Common applications include angle measurement in the field of civil engineering, construction machinery, industrial automation, string tension or tape tension monitoring, angle measurement for valves and rotation measurement for servomotors.
