Seminars For Engineers USA has organised a series of two-day technical seminars on web handling.

"Understanding web handling systems" is an all new update to the company's previous "Web handling and converting" seminar, and will be held on: 12th and 13th February 2008 in Charleston, South Carolina; 17th and 18th June 2008 in Montreal, Canada; 19th and 20th August 2008 in Raleigh, North Carolina; and 9th and 10th December 2008 in Chicago, Illinois.

This seminar teaches the must-know areas of web handling, including tension control, roller design and alignment, nips, guiding, wrinkling and spreading.

The training will address these topics at all levels, providing rules of thumb and their basis in engineering mechanics.

Extensive class notes include hundreds of illustrations to help understand advanced concepts.

Instructed by Tim Walker, a web handling technology authority, the course is applicable to any web-based product, including paper, film, metals, nonwovens, textiles, or any combination of coated or laminated webs.

It is intended for product and process designers, process engineers, quality, maintenance and lead operators, as well as sales and service personnel.
