Seminars For Engineers USA is hosting two different series of composite materials seminars during 2008 in association with BTG Composites.
Seminars For Engineers USA is hosting a series of composite materials failure, analysis and repair seminars during 2008 in association with BTG Composites.
Forthcoming dates and venues include 23rd and 24th July 2008 in Chicago, Illinois.
This seminar focuses on advanced composites topics associated with composite materials design, failure analysis and repair technologies.
Background theory and design/failure/analysis scenarios are supported through examples, case studies and practical dos and don'ts associated with real world composites applications.
Micromechanics, laminated plate theory (LPT), strength prediction and failure theories, finite element analysis (FEA) approaches, joint design methodology, tooling and dimensional control interactions, damage and repair methodology and numerous references are the focal points of this workshop.
Instructed by Dr Scott Beckwith, a renowned composites industry authority, the seminar on composite materials failure analysis and repair is an essential resource for aerospace, military, materials, infrastructure, energy and transportation industry engineers who are involved in any materials selection and characterisation, composites manufacturing, product optimisation, and testing and inspection certification (NDT, NDI, QA).
Although an advanced engineering background is not required, a general understanding of composite materials would be helpful.
Also instructed by Scott Beckwith, the composite materials design, testing and fabrication seminar focuses on composite design methodologies, NDT/NDI methods for locating composite defects, advanced manufacturing technologies, test methods and standards and failure criteria.
This seminar also emphasises practical design considerations for selecting materials in order to optimise design and application performance.
This seminar will be held on 9th and 10th October 2008 in Miami, Florida.
