Sensors converted into counters, timers....

A Sensopart UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 4, 2000

Sensopart have now increased the range of their successful Smart Plug program.

Smart plugs allow standard DC sensors with M12 4 pin connectors to be converted into counters, timers and polarity inverters and now frequency controllers.

The plugs use a remote "teach in" function to program the plug via the signal from the attached sensor.

All SmartPlugs can be used as switching amplifiers - the maximum output current of most sensors is between 100mA and 200mA.

But sometimes loads have to be run which require stronger currents.

In this case normally an appropriate relay is used.

If such a relay is not wanted or working too slow, a SmartPlug timer or counter can be used as switching amplifier.
