Sercos N.A., the North American Sercos interface trade association, has announced the formation of the North American Sercos Technical Working Group, and anyone can join at no charge

Sercos N.A., the North American Sercos interface trade association, has announced the formation of the North American Sercos Technical Working Group.

This consists of motion control engineers working on expanding and improving the Sercos interface standard for motion control - IEC 61491.

The group is presently involved in specifying requirements for advanced conformance tests for Sercos interface products.

(New conformance tests at the Class A level were recently introduced.) This will ensure interoperability of Sercos interface devices from the more than 70 manufacturers of Sercos interface products worldwide.

Anyone who is interested in the technical enhancement of the Sercos interface is welcome to join the group at no charge, whether or not his/her company is a member of one of the Sercos trade associations.
