A new six-page brochure describes Sercos III, the third generation of the internationally standardised Sercos interface (IEC61491) for communications between digital controls, drives, I/O and sensors.
The brochure describes how Sercos III merges the proven real-time communications mechanisms of the Sercos interface with the industrial Ethernet infrastructure.
It describes Sercos' real-time communications experience, available ring and line topologies, the structure of real-time and non-real-time Sercos data using Ethernet data frames, cycle times, and expected performance of various servo system configurations.
