Severn Unival, the UK's leading control and safety valve aftermarket services specialist, has expanded its operations with the opening of a dedicated Middle East workshop centre in Bahrain.

The new centre will provide the complete range of valve support services to plant operators throughout this important area for control and safety valve applications in the oil, gas, power and associated industries.

Service and support activities are available for installed Severn Glocon and Serck Glocon control and safety valves, as well as comparable valves from all other manufacturers.

Main activities encompass workshop and field based repair and servicing, field commissioning and start-up, valve upgrading, replacement valves, the provision of spare parts, test rigs and product training.

All the facility's activities will operate to the accredited ISO 9000 quality procedures developed specifically to meet the stringent levels demanded by international control and safety valve users.

Severn Unival's trained and skilled staff engineers will be available to support or supervise end-users' own staff during planned maintenance shutdowns and re-commissioning periods.

All the procedures in the Bahrain facility are entirely compatible with Severn Unival's UK operations.

The digital communications age is fully utilised to pass information, data and photographic images between staff at both centres to optimise the level of expertise and experience available to the customer.

The fully equipped workshop can also accommodate service and repairs to other valve types, including less elaborate isolating valve designs and specialised valves from other manufacturers.

For example, the facility has already been approved by safety relief valve manufacturer IMI Bailey Birkett and audits by other manufacturers are planned.
