A 24in globe control valve produced at Severn Glocon's factory in Gloucester is one of the largest to have been delivered on a contract for a new gas processing plant in the Middle East.

The huge valve is one of more than 400 valves ordered for plants being built for the Qatar General Petroleum Company by a joint venture consisting of Hyundai Engineering and Construction and Snamprogetti.

Severn Glocon, the UK's leading manufacturer of industrial control valves, was awarded the contract to supply globe, butterfly and ball control valves for the entire two-site project.

A significant number of the globe valves are equipped with Severn Glocon's multi-labyrinth trim designs to meet critical and arduous applications.

The company's proven technical abilities and experience with severe service valve designs made a significant contribution to Severn Glocon's success in winning the multi-million pound contract, which is one of the largest in the company's history.
