Severn Glocon reckons it is the first organisation in Britain to achieve PED/PER compliance, linked with an approval ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System.

The British Standards Institute (BSI) has confirmed that from their client base for all pressure equipment manufacturers and utilities, Severn Glocon is the only organisation to have achieved this successful double.

The company is a major supplier to the international oil, gas and power generation industries.

Nigel Clark, Severn Group Quality Manager explains: "Severn Glocon is now able to offer valves and accessories that are CE marked and in full compliance with Category lll, Module H of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 97/23/EC).

This qualification applies to all current ranges of Severn Glocon products and satisfies the UK statutory instrument (PER1999:2000) which becomes mandatory within the EC on 29th May 2002.

"Furthermore, Severn Glocon's Quality Management System (QMS) has been recently assessed and approved to the new QMS standard ISO9001:2000.

The approval was granted after four days of rigorous audit by assessors from BSI's pressure equipment and quality groups".
