In May 1995, Bruno Marko founder and CEO of Sescoi, opened new offices in Neu-Isenburg, Germany.

Sescoi had already gained 37 customers for WorkNC CAM/CAD software in Germany, working from its group headquarters in Macon, France.

In the intervening years this total has grown to 750 customers, with many times that number of WorkNC licences.

Werner Moller, responsible for Sescoi Germany sales, attributes the success to the way in which WorkNC has been developed to meet the needs of mould and toolmakers.

"WorkNC's key features are ease of use and collision avoidance".

"Throughout its development cycle these core benefits have been maintained".

Now Sescoi Germany has 32 staff to support the surge in customers.

Technicians have a thorough understanding and experience of toolmaking, while its on site development team offers dedicated enhancements to WorkNC to suit the particular demands of sophisticated German toolmakers.

The latest version of WorkNC provides customers with five-axis machining routines which have been well received by Sescoi customers.

The revolutionary Auto 5 five-axis machining, which changes three-axis toolpaths to five-axis toolpaths was the result of collaboration between the development teams in France and Germany.

This capability sets a new standard in ease of use for five-axis machining, enabling users to safely reach parts with shorter and more rigid cutters.

The ability to programme reliably in five-axis helps customers to reduce the number of machine setups, cut features which would previously have required an electrode, and produce a finished tool straight off the machining centre.

Sescoi's integrated management solution for custom manufacturers - WorkPlan - has also been adopted by a large number of German mould and toolmakers, including Kendrion and Bierlein and Schwarz.

According to Werner Moller "In a high wage economy, WorkPlan helps employers reduce nonproductive routine work such as searching for information and repetitive data entry".

"It also gives them better visibility of key business drivers thereby optimising production and saving costs".

Training and education has also played an important role for Sescoi Germany.

Its 2000m2 office provides fully equipped training facilities where users can learn how to maximise the productivity they can gain from WorkNC and WorkPlan.

To further assist its customers, Sescoi Germany regularly organises seminars on particular technological topics such as electrode creation and five-axis machining, in collaboration with machine tool partners.

Werner Moller concluded: "Sescoi Germany has had an unbroken record of success over the past ten years by delivering software tailored to the needs of our customers, combined with service and support aimed at optimising their return on investment".
