Safe Technology and Hibbitt, Karlsson and Sorensen have expanded their alliance for HKS to offer the complete fe-safe software package to users of Abaqus.

Safe Technology and Hibbitt, Karlsson and Sorensen have expanded their alliance for HKS to offer the complete fe-safe software package to users of Abaqus Previously, only a limited version of the software, called Abaqus/Safe, was available from HKS

The new agreement provides HKS customers with immediate access to new fe-safe features as they are released and offers interfaces to other finite element analysis and data acquisition software.

HKS will continue to provide front-line support to fe-safe customers on Abaqus-related issues, while Safe Technology will provide specialised pre- and post-sales support.

"This is a natural step forward in our relationship with Safe Technology", commented Ken Short, vice president of marketing for HKS.

"Abaqus customers will benefit from the latest fatigue prediction capabilities in fe-safe along with an enhanced level of product and application support".

"Safe Technology and HKS provide the most technically advanced durability analysis software solution commercially available, offering a number of unique capabilities in the field of fatigue analysis", said Safe Technology managing director, Professor John Draper.

"We also believe that an open interface policy is a direct customer benefit which ensures that our customers can leverage multiple solution applications from the single user interface of fe-safe".

HKS will offer fe-safe version 5.0 beginning in October 2002, to coincide with the release of Abaqus 6.3.

The new version of fe-safe incorporates such specialist features as fe-rotate and fe-creep, and an fe-safe fatigue wizard for new or occasional users.

The software also offers up to a 15x increase in analysis speed.
