Fatigue analysis aids mathematical simulation
Safe Technology's newly released fe-safe LE suite of fatigue analysis software for finite element models is to be incorporated into the mathematical simulation software AVL Excite.
Safe Technology's newly released fe-safe LE suite of fatigue analysis software for finite element models will be incorporated into the mathematical simulation software AVL Excite.
It will be used in the development of engine and powertrain systems as part of AVL's integrated durability and NVH analysis platform.
fe-safe LE is a "light" version of the fatigue analysis software for FE models, fe-safe.
Within the AVL suite of software, it will be known as AVL Excite Fatigue.
The software has been designed to provide a low cost but accurate fatigue analysis capability for high cycle fatigue conditions.
The user will be able to apply a range of loading conditions, choose from a selection of stress based fatigue algorithms and use the standard fe-safe materials database.
Users will also be able to define different materials and influence factors for different element groups.
High temperature fatigue analysis is included.
The partnership between AVL and Safe Technology allows for the effective combination of the leading edge technology found in both the fe-safe and AVL Excite software packages.
AVL Excite Fatigue offers unique fatigue analysis capabilities to the engine and powertrain industries.
It will enable users to calculate excitation loads close to actual loads and perform fatigue analysis for engine components within the same environment.

Safe Technology's suite of durability analysis software, fe-safe, is regarded as the natural choice for vehicle and engine designers/manufacturers because of its unique and advanced capabilities in the areas of multi-axial fatigue and complex loading conditions.
It also offers unique capabilities for grey iron, thermomechanical fatigue and high temperature fatigue analysis, as well as the quick and accurate analysis of cyclically symmetrical parts.
AVL Excite is the leading mathematical simulation software suite for durability and NVH analysis of entire power unit systems, components and exhaust systems.
Outstanding physical and mathematical models enable the software to be used as a virtual test bench.
The concept of a hybrid multi-body system consisting of linear elastic bodies and highly non-linear joints provide calculation results which are very close to the real operating hardware.
AVL Excite is used by leading automotive companies and engine manufacturers as well as by their component and system suppliers.
