Safe Technology successfully held the company's first fe-safe user conference on 8th November 2005 at Dana's Technical Centre in Michigan, USA.

This is to be an annual event with the next meeting scheduled for September 2006.

The 2005 conference was well attended by fe-safe users including engineers from Caterpillar, Cummins, Dana, Eaton, Federal Mogul, Hayes Lemmerz, LuK, Mercury Marine, Robert Bosch and Volvo Trucks.

Safe Technology partners and fe-safe resellers also attended.

The meeting provided the opportunity to bring together fatigue specialists from a range of industries to learn more about fe-safe, future development plans - including a look at the forthcoming release - and methods of modern metal fatigue analysis in general.

A keynote speech "Fatigue life prediction - past and future" from Daniel Lingenfelser, Engineering Specialist in Component Fatigue Technologies at Caterpillar, set the tone for the day's discussions around current hot topics in the field of fatigue analysis and how they are being addressed by Safe Technology and the engineering world in general.

Other presentations were made by technical experts from Dana, Cummins, Volvo Trucks and Altair Engineering.

Pingsha Dong, Technical Director at the Battelle Institute gave a key presentation on the Verity mesh-insensitive structural stress method for fatigue evaluation of welded structures.

Verity will soon be available as a module within fe-safe.

This agreement between Battelle and Safe Technology marks the first widespread commercial introduction of Battelle's patented Verity methodology, which predicts the fatigue life of welded structures with unprecedented accuracy.
