Papers and presentations from the second fe-safe User Group Meeting are now available for download from the Safe Technology Website.
The meeting on 20th September 2006 was a resounding success, providing delegates with a forum to learn more about fe-safe and fatigue analysis across a number of industries, as well as incorporating ample opportunity to share ideas and experience with fellow users and industry experts.
The keynote speech "The secret to successful fatigue life prediction" came from Professor Steve Tipton, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, University of Tulsa.
User and industry papers were presented from Shaeffler Group, Medtronic, Cummins, Serco Assurance and Belcan Engineering Group on a varied range of fatigue related subjects.
Presentations included: "Fatigue considerations of high strength rolling bearing steels"; "Martensite transformations and fatigue behaviour of Nitinol"; "Gray iron fatigue analysis in fe-safe compared with Goodman theory"; "High temperature materials testing methods for fatigue"; and a discussion paper on the "Fatigue of threaded fasteners".
Internal presentations focused on fe-safe user tips and buried treasure, including how to speed up analyses and how to use the new loading GUI.
There was also a close look at Verity including a demo and spot weld applications, plus a look at the latest capabilities and functionality of fe-safe 5.2.
"It was fantastic to see so many of our customers and potential customers taking time out to come to this event".
"The meeting saw lots of cross-industry discussion and suggestions for development".
"Several new evaluation licences were taken up following the meeting which is also very pleasing", said John Draper, CEO Safe Technology.
