Durability and fatigue analysis software explained

A Safe Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 8, 2007

Fatigue and durability seminars will be held in Ohio, USA during April 2007.

In association with the Equity Engineering Group, Safe Technology is running a series of fatigue and durability seminars conducted by CEO Prof John Draper, a noted fatigue and durability authority.

These seminars explore modern fatigue theory and the practical application of durability and weld fatigue methodology including an introduction to fe-safe and the Verity Structural Stress Method (VeritySSM).

fe-safe is the technically advanced fatigue analysis software for FEA models and incorporates the most sophisticated fatigue analysis technology available in commercial software.

As a result, fe-safe is changing the way design engineers perceive fatigue analysis software tools.

Verity is the revolutionary structural stress method developed by Battelle for the fatigue of welded structures.

Verity has won several prestigious industry awards and was last year licensed exclusively to Safe Technology to create an add-on module in fe-safe for weld fatigue life prediction (Verity in fe-safe).

John Draper will give an overview of the method and show its advantages in terms of accuracy and ease of application.

This course provides a unique opportunity for delegates to learn about the most powerful structural stress method developed to date for fatigue evaluation of welded structures.

"Durability by design - an introduction to fe-safe and Verity in fe-safe" will be held on Monday 23rd April 2007 in Ohio, USA.

The seminar will cover the problems that can now be solved using durability analysis software for FEA models.

A technology update in key areas of fatigue analysis is provided: multiaxial fatigue, effects of temperature, notch sensitivity and residual stresses; why traditional methods of metal fatigue analysis get it wrong; an introduction to modern methods of metal fatigue analysis and why they get it right; an introduction to Verity; an introduction to using fe-safe and the Verity module with FEA software; a demo of fe-safe and Verity in fe-safe.

"Modern methods of metal fatigue analysis theory" will be held from Tuesday 24th to Thursday 26th April 2007, also in Ohio, USA.

The three-day seminar will offer an introduction to modern theories of metal fatigue and their practical application through worked examples and interaction/discussion.

There is a strong emphasis on what is possible and the pitfalls to avoid.

A professional volume of course notes forms a self-contained reference book.
