Fabricators using Corus UK's Colorcoat range of prefinished steel can now specify polymer-headed screw and rivet fasteners from the Seac Polytop range in near-equivalent colours.

These fasteners provide a single-step fix and finish for assembly and fabrication applications where visual appearance is important.

Polytop fasteners are self-finished, self-coloured and blend unobtrusively with Colorcoat prefinished steels.

As a result, they can be used in visible positions where ordinary fasteners would be unacceptable without painting, masking or capping.

Because they fix and finish in a single step, they can cut production time and labour costs.

The Polytop fastener range includes polymer-headed rivets, screws and socket-drive screws to suit most industrial assembly needs.

The Polytop rivet was developed specifically for joining prefinished painted and plastic-coated sheet metals.

This fastener is available as both standard and multigrip 4.8mm diameter aluminium rivets in lengths from 10 to 25mm.

Standard manual or automated rivet setting tools can be used and the raw material grip range is from 1.5 to 20.3mm.

Compatible with pneumatic wrench fixing, socket-drive Polytop screws combine a colourful appearance with high mechanical strength.

Options are available for fixing with either a six- or 12-point socket, the latter providing an added degree of tamper resistance.

Standard Polytop screws have a tough acetal polymer head moulded onto steel or stainless steel Pozidrive screws.

Both types of Polytop screw are supplied in all common screw formats in sizes from 6 to 12 gauge (M4 to M6).
