Specialized Products Company has added more than 300 double-insulated 1kV electrical safety tools to its 2007 list of products.

Specialized Products Company has added more than 300 double-insulated 1000V electrical safety tools to its 2007 list of products Cementex double-insulated safety tools are designed to provide protection in potentially hazardous electrical work environments

The insulated tools will shield installation and maintenance personnel from hot work exposure and allow them to safely cut through and work on live lines.

The tools have two separate layers of insulation for extra protection.

A yellow undercoat covered by an orange overcoating creates a high-voltage barrier.

Impact-resistant, flame-retardant insulation provides protection against flashover, shock, burns and dropped tool shorts.

It prevents dangerous accidents and injury that can occur with standard tools.

All safety tools are tested to 10kV AC, rated for 1kV AC live-line use and marked with the international 1000-V symbol.

They comply with the IEC 900 standard for insulated hand tools and the ASTM F-1505 standard for insulated hand-held tools.

Cementex tools also help to meet the OSHA requirements for safe work place practice standards of 29CFR1910.269, 29CFR1910.333 (b) and 29CFR1910.335 (a) (2).

The two-colour insulation simplifies spotting a coating that's damaged and out of compliance.

If the yellow under layer becomes visible through the orange outer layer, the tool is no longer safe for hot work use and should be replaced.

The tools have lifetime mechanical warranties with one-year insulation guarantee.
