Silicone sponge profiles provide tailored sealing

A Silicone Fabrication Services product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 27, 2002

Extruded silicone sponge profiles provide excellent sealing even against weak substrates and with lower closure forces as they are softer than normal silicone extrusions.

Extruded silicone sponge profiles now available from Silicone Fabrication Services in an expanded range of shapes as well as individually tailored to meet precise user specifications provide excellent sealing even against weak substrates and with lower closure forces as they are softer than normal silicone extrusions.

Working temperature range is -60 to +200C and all types of gaskets can be fabricated, with or without an adhesive backing.

This enables users to have gaskets tailored specifically to their enclosure designs.

Standard colour is off-white, but the sponge is easily pigmented to a wide range of shades.

The shapes offered include square and rectangular sections plus cord and tube.

As well as suiting the widest range of products and indoor or outdoor uses including fire-sensitive applications, silicone sponge profiles are excellent for producing IP65 rated seals.
