Platinum-cured silicone tubing eliminates the risk of contaminating liquid pharmaceutical products and all fluids passing through it.

Platinum-cured silicone tubing eliminates the risk of contaminating liquid pharmaceutical products and all fluids passing through it A new line from Silicone Fabrication Services is said to be of the highest grade available but priced well below the normally expected premium cost

Reinforced and nonreinforced versions are offered for both in-situ and OEM use in plant and machinery, particularly in the pharmaceutical and related laboratory sectors where product purity and quality is critical.

Complying with FDA 177.2600, USP XXII class V1 and DAB 10 (europ Pharmacopoeia), the tubing can be supplied in ready-made standard or hygienic hose assemblies with any type of fittings needed.

It offers long lifespan under repeated sterilising, plus higher clarity than standard silicone for better visibility of flowing product.

Size range of the reinforced tube is 6 to 25mm bore, using a polyester braiding that may be varied to give increased pressure ratings.

Nonreinforced tubing comes in 1 to 50mm bore, with any required wall thickness, and is also suitable for peristaltic pump use.

Whereas a residual trace of the peroxide used to cure standard silicone remains even after processing, with the risk of it leaching into the flowing product, Pt-cured tubing eliminates this danger as all catalyst is removed in curing.
