SGS offers Equator Principles training courses

A SGS SA - Industrial Services product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 20, 2009

SGS in the UK is offering two training courses on the Equator Principles, from basic awareness to development and implementation.

The Equator Principles Awareness Course (EPAC) is aimed at financial institutes, which can learn how to develop the Equator Principle Sustainable Management System for their development projects.

The training courses are public-run courses that can be conducted in house.

The Equator Principles are a set of guidelines - which are promoted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) - that address the social and environmental issues associated with major development projects across the world.

Equator Principles provide the framework for the implementation of internal social and environmental standards and procedures for project financing activities across all industries.

The EPAC provides introduction on the guidelines, customisation tools, reporting tools and performance evaluation over a two-day period.

The course, including the development of an Equator Principle Sustainable Management System (SMS) for financial institutions, will provide introduction and establishment of an SMS, opportunity identification and drafting of action plans and procedures.
