SGS combines visual inspection with NDT methods

A SGS SA - Industrial Services product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 23, 2009

SGS Industrial Services is offering visual inspection (VI) services combined with other advanced or standard non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

According to the company, VI is one of the most widely used NDT methods.

This technique can both work as a preventive and reactive measure.

NDT VI can also be used in combination with other surface inspection methods for flaws that are not easily identified by the naked eye.

VI is sometimes carried out in conjunction with devices such as low-power magnifying glasses, boroscopes, fibrescopes, digital video borescopes, camera systems and robotic crawler systems.
