Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 23, 2009

SGS has established a Satellite Competence Centre in Spain under SGS Wind Energy Services.

This Satellite Competence Centre is responsible for the development of Wind Energy Services in Spain.

The centre, headed by Luisa Eugui, Jose Maria Pimienta and Torsten Muuss, provides technical and related commercial services to its customers.

This includes support for technical questions, plus the supply and updating of marketing material for services offered, taking into account the latest technological developments.

In addition, the team provides ongoing internal training for SGS inspectors in wind turbine inspections, while incorporating the professional role of representing SGS at related industry seminars and conferences.

SGS Wind Energy Services works as an independent project surveyor carrying out certification, inspection, project monitoring and due diligence evaluation of wind farm projects both onshore and offshore.

Through providing experienced staff and technical expertise in wind technology, SGS Wind Energy Services aims to improve trust in wind farm projects and to ensure the quality of wind farms in general.
