Ultimately CSci status is in the gift of the Science Council and, as a result, the award will be recognised internationally.
In order to achieve CSci status individuals are subjected to a rigorous peer review, adding further to the high-status nature of the award.
To date the Science Council has given its approval to 100 Charter awards.
Given that the IOM3, and its 20 000 members, is just one of 13 Science Council member bodies participating in the scheme, making Dr Styger a member of a very elite group.
Dr Styger has played a lead role in over 14 pan-European and global research projects including new technology, medical device, and production and manufacturing engineering.
His contribution is acknowledged to have produced many benefits for manufacturing here in the UK.
