Leading performance plastics group Saint-Gobain has launched a new proprietary material, OmniFlex.

Leading performance plastics group, Saint-Gobain has launched a new proprietary material, OmniFlex.

Developed by the group's High Performance Seals Division, OmniFlex is a fluoroelastomer material with performance equivalent to perfluorelastomer materials in chemical resistance and inertness, yet with a softer durometer and improved compression set.

OmniFlex's outstanding low temperature performance down to -57C outperforms any other elastomer currently available.

The maximum temperature is limited to 218C.

Applications for the new material include: O-rings in low temperature ranges; low-friction hydraulic seals; low temperature and harsh chemical conditions; analytical equipment; paint applications; and semiconductor wafer processing.
