Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 18, 2008

Meldin 7000 thermoset polyimide materials provide superior electrical insulative, heat insulative, chemical resistance and wear resistance properties.

The Polymer Products Business of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has developed the Meldin 7000 series thermoset polyimide materials which are well suited for uses such as semiconductor equipment components and aircraft components.

It provides superior electrical insulative, heat insulative, chemical resistance and wear resistance properties.

While the Meldin 7001, Meldin 7021, Meldin 7022 and Meldin 7211 grades have passed flammability testing for the UL94 V-0 5VA rating, the Meldin 7001 grade has been formally recognised by UL for a UL94 flammability rating of V-0 5VA and its certification is listed in the UL website.

All Meldin 7000 grades are available as isostatically moulded rods, hot compression moulded sheets and rods and direct formed parts.

The Meldin 7000 series material grades are qualified for material specifications such as ASTM D6456, AMS 3644 and other aerospace specifications.
