Credit Suisse Group, the global banking and insurance group, has become the first major bank to adopt nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries to guarantee the power supply to critical computer systems.

The user is prompted to select their location and is then offered two options: to select a battery directly from a list of eight sizes from 45Ah/12V to 91-130Ah/24V; or to provide selection criteria such as starter voltage, engine displacement, oil temperature, battery temperature and cranking time which will enable Saft to size the battery online on their behalf.
The website provides an instant recommendation for a battery from Saft's SPH range which is designed specifically for applications demanding relatively high current over short periods such as engine starting, with the advantages of high reliability, mechanical and electrical robustness and a 20-year service life.
In addition to identifying the optimum battery, the Saft site also supplies comprehensive physical and electrical data and a battery layout.
A net price including delivery is also provided for customers in the USA who can then proceed to order their battery online.
