The Sliding Frame and Push Floor are perhaps the best-known examples and have today become industry standards worldwide.

Various special conveyor types that are also designed to handle these difficult non-free-flowing bulk solids are manufactured.

These include chains, screws, buckets and belts as well as solids handling pumps for sludge cake materials.

Control panels are also manufactured so that complete systems can be supplied.

A number of biomass cofiring projects at major UK coal fired power stations have recently been completed.

Here Saxlund has used its innovative drive-on Push Floor stockpile reclaim technology in combination with their special HBL chain conveyors.

These systems offer storage of various biomass products up to 2000m3 live capacity and give a metered feed to the coal belts on demand.

Saxlund has recently completed three large projects with the Thames Water Trident Alliance and was first chosen to supply an unusual limed sludge cake handling system at the site in Farnham STW.

The site had a building height limitation, so several innovative systems were incorporated including an 11m diameter storage silo complete with new patented Sliding Frame discharge machine for the limed sludge cake.

After completing this project, Saxlund was awarded three further contracts with Thames Water Trident Alliance.

Another interesting project has recently been awarded for two silos at Lafarge Cement Dunbar works for handling FGD Gypsum.

This FGD material comes from desulphurisation plants at coal fired power stations and is notorious for its extreme difficulty in storage and handling.

Saxlund has specialist knowledge and much experience worldwide with this material.

These prestigious projects and many others like them are leading to Saxlund's "knowhow" being in constant demand from companies worldwide.
