Stealth.com releases mini PC

A Stealth Computer Corporation product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 24, 2008

Stealth.com has released a small form factor, or mini PC, designed specifically for in-vehicle/mobile/embedded applications.

Stealth's LPC-450M Little PC operates with a 10-16V DC power input making it suitable for DC-powered applications typically found in vehicles and remote applications.

'The LPC-450M mobile computer possesses a user selectable smart power control interface,' said Ed Boutilier, Stealth.com president and chief executive officer.

When the ignition/power key is turned on, a setting delays the start up or turn-on time of the PC.

This prevents any false power starts and ensures that power is 100 per cent available.

User selectable timer delay settings are five, 10, 20 and 40 seconds, and one, two and four minutes.

At the time the ignition/power key is turned off, the PC could be performing an important task and potentially important data could be lost.

The shut-down delay timer ensures that a safe power down cycle is made by extending the power down time.

User selectable settings are three, five and 10 minutes.

If for any reason the OS has experienced a problem shutting down the computer, the Stealth mobile Little PC has a built-in hardware shut-down feature that will ensure the computer will safely shutdown preventing continuous load and draining the battery power.

Stealth mobile Little PCs utilise Intel's latest Core 2 Duo processor technology.

The machine measures 5.7in(W) x 9.9in(D) x 1.65in(H) and is housed in a rugged aluminum enclosure.

Stealth's mobile PCs features a multitude of I/O connectivity built into its design such as Lan, two serial, three USB, Firewire, Video, Audio, plus PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports.

The LPC-450M has a built-in 2.5in high-shock hard drive with up to 500GB of storage space for archived data.

A low-power fanless model, the LPC-450FM, is also available that delivers noise-free operation.

For applications that require extra high shock, vibration and wide temperature ranges, SSD (Solid State Drive) options are available.

A slim DVD/CD-RW optical drive comes standard with an optional DVD burner available.

Systems are compatible with Microsoft Vista/XP and Linux and can be custom configured to meet the exact needs of the OEM or end user.
