Shell completes Italian acquisition
Shell has recently completed the acquisition of the Italian specialist metalworking lubricant company, Sinol.
Shell has recently completed the acquisition of the Italian specialist metalworking lubricant company, Sinol, to expand the number of products and lubricant related services it provides to metal working companies across Europe.
Sinol, with two other specialist metal working lubricant companies, Shell Macron in Germany and JP Industries in France, has formed Shell Metalworking Europe, a specialist organisation within Shell established to meet the specific requirements of metal working companies on a Pan-European basis.
Comments Thierry Bodiot, Business Manager at Shell Metalworking Europe: "This acquisition will play a key role in the overall service and product offering of Shell Metalworking Europe.
Sinol has great expertise and knowledge in developing water soluble products, and this coupled with the specialist knowledge/products in Shell Macron and JP Industries, will mean we can provide a one-stop-shop lubricant service to metal working companies across Europe".
Sinol, the market leading supplier of metal working lubricants in Italy, supply a range of products including metal working water-soluble and neat oils, release agents/lubricants for metal hot-forging, cold die forming fluids (wire and sheet) and antirust inhibitors, detergents and technical fluids for various applications.
Sinol, established in 1973, employs over 50 employees and has an annual turnover of approximately EUR22 million.
Sinol has over 1500 customers across Europe including GKN, Ferrari, Bosch, SKF, Volkswagen, Fiat Avio (aviation) and Eurotranciature.
Says Massimo Ferro, General Manager at Sinol: "This acquisition will mean that existing Sinol customers will benefit from the additional expertise and knowledge from a large organisation like Shell - Shell Macron and JP Industries have specialist knowledge/products in neat oils and hydraulic lubricants.
In turn, Shell customers will benefit from our specialist knowledge/products in water-soluble oils and associated services".
Concludes Thierry Bodiot: "Shell Metalworking Europe is committed to the continuous development of new products to meet the ever changing requirements in the metal working industry.
By developing products in line with European health and safety legislation and original equipment manufacturers, we can increase productivity, reduce total costs and ensure continuity of business within a metal working organisation".
