Safety interlock switch can never be bypassed
Schmersal (UK) have introduced a new range of safety interlock switches that are activated by an individually-coded, geometrically-unique, actuating key with 15,000 different combinations.
The Schmersal TG 1PW safety door handle allows the operator access at the touch of a button, without affecting his safety and without the need for an external control panel.
The robust and ergonomically designed handle is fitted with an integral button that unlocks the solenoid interlock.
It is easily actuated by the operator's thumb as the door is being opened and two LEDs above the button indicate the door's locked or unlocked status.
An optional emergency stop button can also be integrated into the door handle allowing the operator to stop the machine at any time.
The TG 1PW design is the subject of a patent application and Schmersal are currently developing a range of the handles for use with conventional solenoid interlocks.
The company can also supply their Series AZR safety control modules to monitor solenoid interlocks.
