The R-Series is IP65-rated to provide protection in the most extreme ambient conditions, even during frequent activation over long periods.
Effective testing is the benchmark in improving product performance, reliability and safety and with the growth in modern automation technology, products can be tested in situations that simulate exactly their actual operating conditions.
The Control Techniques' test department houses a variety of custom-built jigs used for flash testing and finished product testing.
The jigs, constructed from polycarbonate and Delrin, are fitted with Schmersal AZM170 safety interlock switches on the outside to lock products in and protect operators during automated high-voltage test procedures.
Explains a Control Techniques spokesman: "The AZM170 switches are wired into the test jigs.
After input from the operator, the switches automatically lock and isolate the jigs before the test procedures are initiated".
He adds: "The Schmersal AZM170 switches were specified because they offered a combination of small physical size - the smallest we could find - and the ability to mount onto jigs that test product as small as 0.25kW".
Schmersal safety equipment is also used on other equipment in the company.
