New additions to the range of SLC 415 safety light curtains and SLG 415 light grids from Schmersal UK include a unique L format, I and T formats, and an integrated muting function.

The combination of much easier fitting and adjustment, and the new formats, significantly reduces installation time and gives engineers the flexibility to design more effective solutions for applications that require muting.

The L format in particular allows more space-efficient layouts to be designed for applications such as conveyor systems etc.

The integrated muting function, in conjunction with additional sensors, is able to differentiate between people and materials.

This means that the SLC 415 light curtain will, in a conveyor system for example, allow conveyed materials to pass through the protection field but will stop the machine if an operator tries to enter a hazardous area.

With the I form, two or more muting sensors (eg reflection light barriers) can be directly connected to the light curtain.

With the L and T versions the muting sensors are also integrated into the system.

The safety light curtains are available in various resolutions and protection field heights from 310 to 1800mm.

The safety light grids are available with two, three, or four beams.

SLC 415 models form the flagship of Schmersal's new range of light curtains and grids, which include units for Type 2 and Type 4 safety applications.

The operating status is indicated by LEDs, and the manual restart and contactor control functions are also integrated.

An extensive list of accessories, including mounting brackets and vibration absorbers, enable the units to be adapted exactly to a specific application.
