The BNS/AES noncontact guard monitoring system comprises a novel combination of safety devices tested and approved by the European notified body BG as a complete system, ensuring that the components are compatible and suit the relevant guarding function Unlike conventional uncoded sensors that are operated by simple magnetic fields and are easily tampered with, the mechanical reed contacts of BNS sensors are operated by a coded and tamperproof magnetic field with a special polarisation and field strength

The BNS sensor, which is controlled and monitored by the AES control module, also features two-pole reed elements with a normally open and normally closed circuit.

This minimises common mode causes of failure such as welding of the NC contact.

In addition according to EN1088, the coded BNS/AES system does not require concealed mounting, which significantly simplifies the design and maintenance of guard monitoring installations.

BNS/AES safety systems are suitable for all control categories and conform to the new classification PDF-M (self-monitoring) per IEC60947-5-3.

Typical applications include printing, packaging and food processing machinery or installations where high levels of dust or dirt are evident.
