Sira Test and Certification has introduced a fast-track route to North American markets by negotiating preferential access to North American approval bodies for its UK customers

Sira Test and Certification, the UK supplier of testing, calibration and certification services, has introduced a fast-track route to North American markets, by negotiating preferential access to North American approval bodies for its customers Sira, which has mutual agreements with many Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratories (NRTLs), will carry out all necessary testing and assessment required for UK-based manufacturers to meet North American standards

Sira has recognition agreements with FM Global, UL and CSA for North America.

The Chester-based Hazardous Area Centre now provides one contact point for hazardous area testing of electrical equipment for sale into North America as well as European markets.

Certificates that demonstrate compliance of products around the world can now all be obtained from one UK-based testing centre, which not only removes many of the obstacles to entry to North American markets, but also speeds up the process of securing the international compliance.

Andy Allen from Sira's Hazardous Area Centre, comments: "Our work with UK-based manufacturers is extensive.

We test and certify clients' products to the appropriate standards, which means issuing ATEX Certification for Europe.

Because so many companies are now looking at global sales for their products, Sira has negotiated the fast-track route for North American listing, to enable our clients to develop products that meet both European and North American standards simultaneously.

Sira is now the conduit for many companies wanting to sell into the USA, with the appropriate certificates issued swiftly from the US NRTLs, via Sira." Sira Hazardous Area Centre has produced a datasheet which details the fast track route to North America.

This is available free of charge.
