As the appointed certification body for the Environment Agency's MCERTS scheme (Monitoring Certification Scheme), Sira Certification Service has recently issued a new MCERTS certificate to CBISS The MCERTS certification has been awarded to CBISS's new MIR9000 multi gas analyser, which allows continuous measurement of up to 10 components from HCL, SO2, NOx, CO, CO2, N2O, NH3, THC, CH4, HF, H20, and O2 using infra-red absorption spectroscopy with gas filter correlation (GFC)

The system, which is manufactured by CBISS's French partner Environnement, is a continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS).

The quality and versatility of the MIR9000 has led to CEMS installations in cogeneration gas turbines, electrical power plants, hazardous waste incinerators, cement kilns, industrial boilers, chemical and petrochemical plants and glass plants.

Sira Certification Service's Chief Executive, Ian Knott, presented the MCERTS certificate to CBISS Managing Director Peter McCue.

MCERTS is the Environment Agency's Monitoring Certification Scheme.

Its aim is to promote the production of high quality monitoring data and provide a key foundation for the policy of self-monitoring through third party accredited certification.

Sira Certification Services is the appointed certification body and is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
