Sira has set up a new safety compliance business under the banner "safety through excellence" The new business, operating out of both the Chester and Chislehurst offices, brings together all those elements of the Sira business that centre around the need for safety in the workplace

The new offering will be beneficial to both manufacturers and users of instrumentation, and consists of five specific services: Ex product certification; a full range of services to meet the new dangerous substances and explosive atmosphere regulations; quality module certification; training and technical sessions; and functional safety (to IEC61508).

Steve Lower, Business Director states: "Our goal for the next five years is to become the market leader internationally in safety compliance, blending together product certification, technical guidance and training in the fields of safety and functional safety.

Sira will be established as a place where companies can carry out ad hoc testing, research and development and engage our technical staff in problem solving".

Mike Shearman, General Manager comments: "With its variety of services and combining years of experience and technical excellence with integrity and reliability, the new safety compliance business is going to play a major role in this business sector".
