Developments in flame monitoring and detection

A Sira product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 29, 2002

Sira is organising a one day seminar for anyone interested in the leading edge of flame monitoring and detection to investigate recent advances in key technologies in this area.

Maximising the efficiency of industrial burners has the potential for major cost savings as well as reductions in environmental impact.

Early detection of flames from an unexpected fire can save production capability, property and lives.

Sira is organising a one day seminar for anyone interested in the leading edge of flame monitoring and detection to investigate recent advances in key technologies in this area.

Representatives of academic and industrial organisations working on a variety of flame-based applications will present and discuss their work during the seminar dedicated to this theme.

Topics covered include visible and infra-red imaging, acoustic measurements and a presentation on the novel subject of electrochemistry of flames.

The seminar will be relevant to everyone with an interest in combustion, flame detection, combustion control and emissions limitations.

Typical industrial applications include: industrial burners; combustion equipment manufacture; power generation; steel manufacture; ceramics and glass; cement manufacture; waste incineration; and flame detection and safety.

The seminar will be held on the 22nd May at Sira, Chislehurst, Kent.

The fee is GBP 80 plus VAT.
