An intensive one-day tutorial will provide engineers and scientists working in precision mechanics, opto-mechanics and electronics with the information they need to solve vibration problems.

A leading expert will provide, in one intensive Sira tutorial day, engineers and scientists working in the fields of precision mechanics, opto-mechanics and electronics with the information they need to solve vibration problems Scientists and engineers designing or using precision systems and engineers with problems of vibration in production situations will learn about vibration theory and sources, the principles of vibration control and isolation as well as random vibration

The course, organised by Sira, is intended for those working across the range of precision industries, which may include precision optics and glassworking, microcircuit fabrication and microscopy.

Daniel Vukobratovich currently works for Raytheon, based in Tucson, Arizona.

He was formerly a senior engineer at the National Optical Astronomy Observatories, and has also spent many years as a research scientist at the University of Arizona.

Vukobratovich, who also lectures for Sira on opto-mechanics, is a world expert in vibration control and advanced optical mounting techniques.

He will provide delegates with an understanding of the principles of vibration theory and vibration control.

The course follows on immediately after Sira's "Introduction to opto-mechanical design" and "Advanced topics in opto-mechanics" courses in June.

"Vibration control in science and industry" will be held on the 20th June 2003, at The Bromley Court Hotel, Bromley, Kent, UK.
