While the connection between motor and inverter supply is usually straightforward, there are still a number of issues which need to be carefully considered, as this article explains
The main objective for Siemens in 2001 is to extend its on-line product selection and ordering capability.
The company predicts that over 60 per cent of its sales will be via electronic trading in the near future.
E-business is already reducing costs related to procurement and operations, allowing Siemens to redirect resources into improving customer satisfaction.
Literally trillions of transactions are undertaken already, both internally and externally, each year.
It is expected that by standardising and automating the majority of these, savings amounting to several billion Euros will be achieved.
"Having built an e-business community across Europe, Asia and America, we are now managing the transfer of knowledge and technology across the entire Siemens organisation." explained Mr Jurgen Maier, General Manager.
The existing Siemens Mall, an on-line shop which supplies a wide range of Automation and Drives products, will continue to be developed, along with the company's web-sites and other e-business initiatives.
Currently, over 20,000 web pages exist for Siemens Automation and Drives alone, providing customers, distributors and systems integrators with every conceivable detail on products, technical support and services.
