UK business can expect a 10-15 per cent increase in electricity costs in April next year, due to the Government's climate change levy, but Siemens aims to help customers through the maze

UK business can expect a 10-15 per cent increase in electricity costs in April next year, due to the Government's climate change levy.

Company profits will be hit as energy costs rise.

These increases, though, can be offset using several Government incentives - 80 per cent levy discounts, and enhanced capital allowances (ECA) for equipment such as variable speed drives and energy efficient motors.

Siemens Automation and Drives has followed the development of the legislation closely and is well placed to help its customers through the ECA maze.

Savings from using variable speed drives are repeated every year, and using the ECA scheme gives yet more incentive to invest.

Siemens variable speed drives and energy efficient motors will be listed on the ECA website as qualifying equipment.

By using more energy efficient drives and motors, UK business will not only cut energy costs but it will also reduce tax liability and improve its processes and profits at the same time.
