Siemens Automation and Drives has introduced a new range of IP55 and IP52 rated switch disconnectors which complies with BS EN60947-3:1992 and is available both with fuses and without.

Siemens Automation and Drives has introduced a new range of IP55 and IP52 rated switch disconnectors available both with fuses and without.

The Stratum 100 IP55 range of fused-switch disconnectors complies with BS EN60947-3:1992 and eight, triple-pole and neutral, models cover current ratings from 63A to 630A.

Four-pole, switched neutral, versions are also available for units of 125A and above.

The units, which are designed for wall fixing, have a short circuit rated fuse capacity of 50kA at 500v A.C.

Double break contacts provide total isolation for the safe replacement of fuse links and standard terminal shrouds prevent inadvertent contact with live parts.

All enclosures have IP55 environmental protection and an internal earth-bonding bolt provides bonding compliance with the 16th Edition of the IEE Regulations.

The door has positive ON/OFF indication and the rotary mechanism of the handle ensures that the door is locked when the unit is in the live ON-position.

A similar range is available for switch disconnectors without fuses, and cabinet sizes for each power rating are the same, a feature that permits later upgrading to fused units.
