Siemens Automation and Drives has appointed Bristol based systems integrator Optimal as the only UK representative of the Simatic WinCC Professional User Group.

Siemens Automation and Drives has recently appointed Bristol based systems integrator Optimal as the only UK representative of the Simatic WinCC Professional User Group.

As one of 14 companies globally, Optimal will meet with the group twice a year to discuss development opportunities for WinCC, which is Siemens Scada package.

As a member of the Professional User Group, Optimal can also develop add on packages for WinCC.

Once the design of the addon is completed Siemens will help Optimal take the enhanced product to market.

Marketing support for the WinCC addons is provided by Siemens, which is also the point of contact for questions regarding the integration of the product into an automation solution.

Anthony Mayall, Product Manager for HMI said: "Optimal has been working with WinCC and Siemens for over 10 years, particularly within the pharmaceutical industry.

Their role in designing WinCC packages has expanded over the years and today Siemens, confident in their ability, recommends them for WinCC projects".

WinCC has long been an integral component of company-wide information landscape.

Operating on standard PCs running Windows NT and Windows 2000, WinCC enables human machine interfaces (HMIs) to operate at all levels - from the factory floor to accessing management data.

In conjunction with the optional Advanced User Administrator, WinCC meets the FDA requirements 21 CFR Part 11 for the pharmaceutical and food industry sectors.
