Siemens Automation and Drives recently launched its own Safety Integrated initiative, which includes everything from failsafe PLCs and I/O modules to emergency stop buttons and light curtains.
Juergen Koehler joined Siemens in 1984 as a Project Engineer.
Since then he has worked in mainland Europe and more recently in China, where he spent five years developing Automation and Drives' product, service and training business in this rapidly growing and important global market.
Koehler takes over from Hans Ullrich Schliefer who retires after 42 years with Siemens, and will be focusing his attention on maintaining Siemens Automation and Drives' position as the overall leader in automation and control.
He believes that customer focus, innovation, people development e-business are key to achieving his business's goals: "These factors are vital to our success.
With the right people, the right products and world-class innovation, we will be able to deliver even greater value and service to our customers", he commented.
