Input module aids safety compliance

The new IP20 input module has been launched to compliment the extensive range of products that form Siemens Automation and Drives ASi Safety at Work concept.

The new IP20 input module has been launched to compliment the extensive range of products that form Siemens Automation and Drives ASi Safety at Work concept.

The ASI safe IP20 input module is available in either screw or cage clamp technology in a 22.5mm wide, DIN rail mountable housing.

The units are EN954-1 category 4 compliant, and can be applied to SIL 3 of IEC61508 safety systems.

Paul Hingley, Product Manager from Siemens Automation and Drives said: "The ASi Safety at Work concept offers our customers the possibility of fully integrating all their safety components, to meet the demands the new safety standards IEC954 and IEC61508".

"With the introduction of this new input module, we are able to provide even greater flexibility and easier integration to meet and exceed our customers' requirements".
