This function module is fully integrated with Siemens Simatic PLCs and the Simatic PCS 7 process control system.
Its comprehensive diagnostic functions provide reliable process monitoring, making a substantial contribution to quality assurance in the production process.
New commissioning and service tools make it easier to performing tasks and to enhance quality assurance.
Because the device is fully integrated with the Simatic range of PLCs, users are able to manage the weighing procedures through a PLC program.
Therefore, tasks can be meaningfully divided: the very fast weighing functions are implemented in the Siwarex FTA and the interlocking and logic functions in the Simatic CPU.
Siwarex can be snapped directly onto the Simatic S7-300 or ET 200M backplane bus.
The installation/cabling requirements of the 80mm-wide weighing module are extremely low as a result of the DIN rail assembly and snap-on technique.
A standard 40-pin front plug is used to connect the load cells, the RS485 serial interface, the analogue output and the digital inputs/outputs, a 9-pin sub-D plug to connect the PC (RS232), and a separate 2-pin plug to connect the power supply.
The modules can be installed or exchanged in a matter of seconds and can even be hot-swapped in connection with active bus modules.
The device comes already calibrated, which means there is no need for recalibration after components are exchanged.
