Siemens Automation and Drives has equipped three of its Simatic operator control and visualisation devices with a stainless steel front.

Siemens Automation and Drives has equipped three of its Simatic operator control and visualisation devices with a stainless steel front This means that a number of products, including the touch panel 'TP 170B colour', the PC 670 panel '15-Inch Touch' and the multi-panel 'MP 370 15-Inch Touch' can now be used in hygienic areas in the food and beverages industry

The panels have the higher degree of protection IP66 and are also water-tight in extremely damp environments.

Liquids simply flow off the panels thanks to the specially constructed frame sections and the minimal amount by which the panel front projects once it has been mounted said Siemens.

The stainless steel front, ground with a 240 grain, and the film enclosing the display form a surface that has only a few grooves and gaps and is easy to clean and disinfect.

The exterior dimensions and the opening that has to be cut out for the stainless steel front devices are identical to those of the corresponding standard products.
