New guidelines for variable speed drives + motors
While the connection between motor and inverter supply is usually straightforward, there are still a number of issues which need to be carefully considered, as this article explains
Actuators and sensors are connected via fail-safe input and output modules.
By means of an interface module, standard and fail-safe modules can be optionally integrated in Profibus or Profinet networks, where standard and fail-safe communication are carried out in parallel on one cable.
The interface module has a two-port switch with which simple linear structures can be designed, for example for conveying technology applications.
The connection to Profinet is made using two M12 plugs.
ET 200pro solves automation tasks with safety requirements up to SIL 3 (EN61508) or Category 4 (EN954-1).
The new PM-E DC 24V power module can be used to connect different consumers and to produce selective load groups in order to increase plant availability.
The particularly compact Simatic ET 200pro distributed I/O system permits versatile and modular expansion and is connected, just like all distributed Simatic I/O systems, via the Simatic Step 7 engineering software to the Simatic automation network.
Step 7 is used for simple planning, configuration and parameterisation of ET 200pro.
ET 200pro can also be used with automation systems from other vendors, interfaced using device master data (GSD) files.
