The new S7-300 CPU 319F is designed for top-performance applications requiring safety-related functions in standard and special mechanical equipment manufacture

Siemens Automation and Drives (AandD) has released two new failsafe devices for factory automation.

These are the CPU 319F-3 PN/DP from the Simatic S7-300 range and the EM 4F-DI / 3F-DO input/output module of the ET 200S I/O system.

The new S7-300 CPU 319F is designed for top-performance applications requiring safety-related functions in standard and special mechanical equipment manufacture, such as presses and plant building.

The device has integral Profibus and Profinet interfaces, and as a proxy device it can handle standard and failsafe communication between the bus systems over Profisafe.

The safety-related program itself is created with Simatic Step 7 and S7-Distributed Safety.

The digital, failsafe ET 200S input/output module EM 4F-DI / 3F-DO 24V dc/2A is tailored to the requirements of SIL 2/Cat.3 and corresponds to requirements for standard applications in production machinery and machine tools.

The input/output module has the functions short-circuit test and discrepancy time monitoring and can be used, for example, in mixed configurations with standard modules and SIL3/Category 4 modules.
