Siemens Automation and Drives' Simotion C240c an co-ordinate up to 32 axes via Profibus with the PROFIdrive profile.

Siemens Automation and Drives (AandD) is adding the Simotion C240 to its range of motion control modules.

With its increased performance, the new controller can co-ordinate up to 32 axes via Profibus with the PROFIdrive profile.

The retained data and work memory capacities have been expanded to 100Kbyte and 20Mbyte respectively.

The Simotion C240 has four encoders and four analogue interfaces for connecting analogue drive units or stepper drives with a pulse/direction interface.

This makes the controller especially suitable for retrofit projects.

It can be expanded with I/O modules from the Simatic S7 range and offers optimal adaptation to the automation task in hand.

The Simotion C240 is compatible with the C230-2 controller with regard to interfaces and installation.
