Logic modules provide increased capacity

A Siemens Automation and Drives product story

The logic modules of the new 0BA6 series are significantly more powerful than previous models and, with 200 function blocks, the memory capacity is 50% larger than before.

Siemens Automation and Drives has released a new range of Logo devices: logic modules with graded text display designed for industry and building systems.

The logic modules of the new 0BA6 series are significantly more powerful than previous models and, with 200 function blocks, the memory capacity is 50% larger than before.

The analogue inputs have been doubled to four.

The new devices have four high-speed counters up to 5kHz and are equipped with Teleservice functions, as well as ten menu languages.

The new separate text display tailored to the logic modules can also be connected directly to the basic device or installed up to 10m away.

The new range has been designed for applications as diverse as lighting controls, car washes and access controls, aquarium systems, trash compactors, strapping machines, axle lubrication systems on trains, feeding systems in cattle rearing and pressure intensifiers and pumping stations.

The text display has four lines with 12 characters each.

Fifty different four-line messages can be configured, with expanded display options such as ticker text, bar graph or toggle parameters and up to 32 characters per line can be stored for continuous ticker text.

Several messages can be displayed at the same time, for example messages relevant to operation can be displayed on a separate text display, while service-related information can be displayed in the control cabinet.

The new logic modules and the internal and external display are configured using the Logo Soft Comfort V6 standard software.

New function blocks for arithmetic and pulse width modulation expand the application options, while the teleservice function simplifies device control and troubleshooting for service purposes.

Upgrading existing systems with earlier Logo generations could not be easier as only the basic devices have to be renewed and the installed expansion and communication modules can be re-used, including already created programs.
